What is the best washing machine stand?
The best washing machine stand is a solution that not only means you bend less, but also offers maximum safety, real stability and sensible storage. A simple loose stand often does not give you the vibration damping you want. If you want to combine comfort, safety and design, a modular washing machine stand from Wastoren® is the most complete and long-lasting choice.
A washing machine stand brings your machine to an ergonomic working height of 60 cm, absorbs vibrations through the unique cabinet-in-cabinet construction and immediately creates useful storage under the machine, such as a handy drawer unit. It works particularly well for anyone who wants to avoid back trouble and keep the laundry room tidy and organised.
What to look for in a washing machine stand
There are a few important points to consider when choosing the right stand for your appliances:
Maximum load: a washing machine cabinet has to carry the weight of the machine, the water and the wet washing without effort. Our stands, such as the TÜV-certified WSCS1462, have a tested maximum load of 120 kg, which is ample for virtually every modern machine.
Real stability: the machine must not shift during a high-speed spin. The unique cabinet-in-cabinet construction from Wastoren® keeps the machine firmly in place.
Ergonomic height: most loose frames are very low, around 30 to 40 cm. For a genuinely comfortable posture, where you can stay upright, 60 cm is the standard.
Built-in storage: make the most of the space under the machine. Our stands have room for pull-out drawers or open inserts for laundry baskets, so detergent and supplies are within reach.
Effective vibration damping: a cabinet-in-cabinet construction in high-quality, extra thick panel material directs the forces of the spin cycle straight down, which keeps the machine quiet and the house calm.
What suits your situation?
Wastoren® washing machine cabinets are fully modular. You tailor the setup to your own laundry room and your own wishes:
You want to avoid back trouble: the base cabinet with a stand brings the drum to a comfortable working level, so your back and knees are spared with every wash.
You are looking for extra storage: the basket drawer under the machine creates extra room, for detergent for example. Fit the space under the machine with a drawer insert, or choose an open insert that holds your laundry basket at exactly the right height.
You want to minimise vibration: thanks to the continuous base plate, the machine stands firmly anchored. Vibrations are directed down to the floor in a controlled way through the unique cabinet-in-cabinet construction.
You want to be able to extend: the modular system grows with you. Start with a single stand and add tall storage cabinets or a stacked washer and dryer module later just as easily.
How do you raise your washing machine safely?
Safety comes first when you place heavy appliances at height. Pay attention to the following during installation:
Level it precisely: use a spirit level and adjust the sturdy feet of the cabinet carefully. This is essential to prevent imbalance and extra vibration from the start.
A firm, hard floor: place the washing machine cabinet on a flat, solid floor where possible. Do you have a wooden floor? Then lay a waterproof MDF board the width and depth of the cabinet underneath and screw it down to the wooden floor. If there is laminate on the wooden floor, remove it where the cabinet will stand, fit the waterproof MDF board and screw it down to the wooden floor.
Room for connections: allow enough installation space at the back. Our cabinets provide 5 cm of space inside the cabinet for the connections, and the wall brackets let you stand the cabinet about 5 cm from the wall, which leaves a good 10 cm of clearance for hoses and cables.
Anti-tip device as standard: to prevent the machine tipping, all our washing machine cabinets come with an anti-tip device and wall brackets as standard.
Why choose the washing machine stands from Wastoren®?
Wastoren® is the only supplier in Europe with a TÜV-certified washing machine cabinet tested with a machine running inside it. That means our cabinets have been thoroughly tested for safety, stability and sustained load up to the maximum of 120 kg. The built-in ventilation grilles also provide a constant airflow, which extends the life of your appliances.
Alternative or home-made stands
We strongly advise against building your own loose stand or using unsafe, improvised constructions. These do not offer certified vibration damping, can shift under the considerable forces of the spin cycle and do not meet the safety requirements of manufacturers and insurers. A professional, modular washing machine stand is the only safe and responsible way to raise your appliances.
