Can the cabinets stand on any type of floor?
Yes, Wastoren® washing machine cabinets can be installed on virtually any solid, flat floor, such as concrete, tiles, vinyl, laminate or a poured floor. What matters is that the floor has enough load-bearing capacity to carry the weight of the cabinet, the washing machine, the dryer and the laundry.
For a safe and stable setup we advise always levelling the cabinet. Thanks to the adjustable feet, small unevenness in the floor is easily taken up. That contributes to a stable construction and helps limit unwanted vibration during the spin cycle.
Floors that are suitable straight away
On the following surfaces you can generally install the cabinets without any extra measures:
Concrete floors – the most stable surface for heavy cabinets.
Tiled floors – offer good compressive strength and stability.
Solid, flat wooden floors – provided they are well fixed down and level.
Why do some floors need extra measures?
On soft or floating floors, such as click laminate and click vinyl, the weight of the cabinet can put too much strain on the click joints. That can lead to open seams, indentations in soft floors, or the cabinet sitting out of true so that doors and drawers no longer close properly.
Installing on a wooden floor
On a wooden floor we advise putting a water-resistant MDF or plywood panel – the width and depth of the cabinet – underneath the cabinet and screwing it down onto the wooden floor. That spreads the weight and the cabinet stands firmly.
A wooden floor combined with laminate
A wooden floor combined with laminate can cause problems. It is best to remove the laminate under the cabinet and lay a water-resistant MDF or plywood panel the width and depth of the cabinet, screwed down onto the wooden floor.
