How do I know whether my washing machine or dryer fits in the cabinet?
To work out whether your washing machine and dryer fit in a washing machine cabinet, it is important to compare the dimensions of both appliances with the dimensions of the cabinet. Measure not only the height, width and depth, but also allow for protruding parts such as the door, the controls, hoses and plugs.
Most freestanding washing machines and dryers are about 60 cm wide and 85 cm high, but the dimensions can differ per brand and model. So always measure your appliances yourself or check the manufacturer's product specifications.

How to check the fit in four steps
Measure your appliance accurately – width, height and depth, including protruding handles and controls.
Compare with the internal recess dimensions below.
Allow for extra room for vibration, ventilation and the hoses.
Check the door swing: can it open fully?
Always allow extra room on top of the dimensions
For a correct installation you need some clearance around your appliance:
Sides: about 1 to 2 cm on both sides to absorb vibration during the spin cycle.
Top: roughly 2 cm of clearance so you can position the machine easily.
Back: allow 10 to 15 cm of extra depth for the supply and drain hoses, the plug and ventilation.

Watch out for protruding parts
The stated depth can turn out larger in practice because of protruding handles, controls or the curve of the door. Always include these parts when working out the room you need.
